British Virgin Islands - November 2023

It was great to be back in the BVI again. It was just spectacular with the deep blue water that turns to aquamarine as you get into shallow areas, and then when you’re down to a 10 feet it is clear as gin. The hills were as green and vibrant as I’ve ever seen them. This really is a gorgeous place.
We sailed out of Nanny Cay and spent 8 days and 9 nights sailing in perfect weather in paradise. Our route took us first to Peter Island to anchor overnight. Next day we sailed to Norman Island where we snorkeled in and around the caves. Next on to Great Harbour on Jost Van Dyke via Pusser’s in Soper’s Hole.
From there we went to anchor at Sandy Spit on JVD via Cane Garden Bay. Lobster at Potter’s by the Sea in Anegada, and I got Sam to sing Sweet Caroline. It’s his favorite. Then we went to the bitter end and get some good docking practice at the Bitter End. A slow sail in light winds the next day got us to White Bay on Guana Island. The next day stopped at the Baths on the way to our final anchorage on the North side of Peter Island. A quick hop over to Nanny Cay the next morning where we fueled the boats, then cleaned up to be ready for the taxi at 10am.
We covered all the skills for ASA 104, 114, and 106, and all the skills and training that go along with these Adventure Learning Courses. Everyone was busy and learned a heck of a lot more than they ever thought they would on a trip like this. Plus we still had time to enjoy some fantastic snorkeling and amazing anchorages.
